AL in 3rd person to Charles Burney (1726-1814), 1774 Mar 14.

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a letter by Richard to Twiss to Dr. Charles Burney asking him to look at the musical scores accompanying his letter, which contain "four Tonadillas, five Seguedillas, a few Portuguese airs, the Neapolitan Tarantella & Romanella; & the Venetian Furlana." Twiss writes further that "he impatiently longs for Sunday to have the pleasure of the Drs. instructive conversation & shall bring with him two sketches of musical instruments the one from an old painting at Bologna, the other from a Basso relievo at Toledo in Spain." The manuscript is accompanied by about 128 pages of the musical scores described in the letter, dated ca. 1769-1773 and variously inscribed.
